My costs for my bilateral resurfacing with Dr. De Smet on
Dec 20, 2006:
I spent 11 nights in the Villa which is more than a
single hip resurfacing and was 4 days in the hospital which
is also longer than the single hip resurfacing.
My costs were:
Surgery in Belgium Costs (You will have to use the
current exchange rate.
The Sheraton at the airport and local transportation are
estimates but close.
Anca Clinic 3500 euros
Zircone NV 4000 euros
Hospital 9556 euros
Total 17,056 euros at 1.30 est. rate at time =
$22,172
Housing and Travel
Villa 120 euros /11 nights $2085
B&B 2 nights (Cuberdon) $98
Airport Motel 1 night (Sheriton) $100
Transportation (train/cab post op) $150
Airline ticket $1049.23 (Continental nonstop Portland, OR to
NJ to Brussels, Brussels to NJ to Portland)

Meals preop and Villa dinner snacks ?

The total cost was about $25,800 for a bilateral.
A single hip would be considerably less. I stayed in the
Villa for the extra Physical Therapy and it was worth it.
