My name is Peter Huang and I'm a 26 year old Singaporean musician. I'd like to add my name to the list of resurfaced people around the world.

Mine was done on Nov. 24th 2008, on the left side only. It is a Depuy ASR, done by Dr. Wilson Wang of the National University Hospital (NUH) here in Singapore.

I do believe it costs a lot less than what I've heard from around the world.

The whole thing cost just over 15 grand Singapore dollars. Which works out to just under 10 grand US. To go along with the already cheap price, the fact that I did it in a government hospital as opposed to a private one, I was given a Singapore Citizen's discount of over 8 grand (Singapore dollars again). So we only had to pay a little over 6 or 7 grand.

As if that wasn't enough, we anticipate medical insurance to help cover another 3 to 4 grand. So my dad only ended up having to pay just under 3 grand (singapore dollars). Which works out to less than 2 grand USD!!!

This is a ridiculously cheap part of the world to do this procedure so I thought I'd share that information.

In any case, Dr Wilson Wang is a wonderful guy and a good doctor more importantly.

My case was brought about by a childhood case of Perthes' Disease in the left hip, which collapsed it in 1995 and has given me over 4 years on crutches and endless days of pain and soreness. I'm now at 10 days post op, but looking forward to when I get to a month or two from now when I can walk comfortably and later on run around and do my sports again.  :)
