My name is Brian Day 58, I live in Flanders, NJ. On
Tuesday April 26 I had bilateral hip resurfacing at HSS by Doctor
Su.
On Wed. morning they got me out of bed and I walked
2 steps forward and 2 steps back and then repeated it, that was it
for the 1st pt session.
On Thursday afternoon I was on crutches and
navigated a 4 step staircase, and at noon on Friday they sent me
home.
I can't say enough about HSS and Dr. Su. The main
reason I'm writing you is to tell you how much your website helped
me along with everything related to this procedure. I had 0
apprehension going in and mostly it was because of you and your
site!.
I'm sitting here today 5/4 pretty much pain free and
walking on crutches and navigating quite well with them. I'll be on
the crutches until my follow up on 5/25, I promised Dr Su's PA that
i would no matter how good i felt...lol.
5/11/2011 I'm two weeks post-op and
things couldn't be going better. I have a physical therapist come in
3 times a week and of course I'm doing all the exercises that were
outlined for me everyday. It's amazing the improvement you can see
on a daily basis. My therapist told me if i wasn't restricted by Dr
Su's orders he would have me walking without the crutches, which to
be honest with you I have cheated a little and have walked without
them, just small distances and in reach of something i can grab in
case i lose my balance. I walk outside with the crutches 4 -5 times
a day, haven't really kept track of the distances, but i know i can
do a 1/4 mile with no problem and if i pushed it i think i could do
1/2 mile. I think that's pretty good considering it was both hips.
Thanks again for all you do for people like me, I'll try to give you
another update right after my follow up visit with Doctor Su
